How to choose skateboard gears

    How to choose skateboard gears?

    Choosing your gear
We should all start with protective gears until we mastered the tricks so that we can minimize damage and prevent serious injuries.

Here's the list of protective safety gears that you should have:
    1) Helmet
    2) Knee/Elbow Pad
    3) Wrist Guard
    4) Padded Skate Shorts

    Helmet
Let's face it! Skateboarding is not all fun and games and you will fall a lot when you're learning new moves and tricks. Therefore, it's important to ensure that you're head is safely intact when you train.

Get a helmet from reputable manufacturer such as Bell or Giro with Australian standard approved. Try all the helmets and choose the one that suits you the most with the design you like.

    Knee/Elbow Pad
Knee and elbow pad will help you absorb the impact as well as prevent abrasions from sliding on the ground. I suggest getting a hard plastic caps as it offer the most impact and abrasion protection. Starters should start with thicker pads too.

    Wrist Guard
Wrist injures are common skateboarding injuries based on statistics as it's natural to reach for the ground when you fall. Make sure your wrist guard have splints to absorb impact and reduce chances of injuries because it places a large impact forces and causes lots of injuries when falling.

The splints are the hard pieces on the front and back of the wrist that provide support for the skate wrist guard. These splints can be made of metal, carbon fiber, plastic, or a hard foam. Choose the material based on the protection versus the flexibility you want

    Padded Skate Shorts
Ensure that the skate pads provide maximum coverage as it help protect your butt, tailbone, hips, and thighs from impact and abrasions. Do get a thick one if you are just starting out. We recommend you to hand wash it too to ensure that it keeps in good form.
